Diagnosing sarcomas remains one of the most complex areas in pathology. As a rare and highly heterogeneous group of malignancies arising from connective tissues, sarcomas often require a multimodal diagnostic approach. While morphology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) provide essential clues for classification, molecular testing - particularly FISH-based assays - has become increasingly important for confirming specific entities, helping pathologists achieve accurate diagnoses and support optimal patient management.

During Sarcoma Awareness Month, we recognize and honor the patients, families, clinicians, researchers, and pathologists whose strength, dedication, and collaboration are helping to improve outcomes for those affected by these rare diseases.

Together, raising awareness and advancing diagnostic precision can help support better patient care.

Because every diagnosis counts.
